# How does SimpleSpa transmit data securely?

SimpleSpa uses TLS encryption and layered monitoring to protect data in transit.

SimpleSpa uses Transport Layer Security (TLS), a form of data encryption, to keep all internet communications private, both in the app and when clients pay through your SimpleSpa online address.

Additional protections include:

* Individual user sessions are identified by a unique username at login.
* Multiple layers of monitoring devices, including a Web Application Firewall (WAF).
* Intrusion Prevention System capabilities.
